Bloggers Interview with howeverlongs

In today’s interview we got a chance to chat to Paula aka howeverlongs about why she ships Klaroline, her experience in the fandom and her favourite AU’s. Read what she has to say here:

KM: For all of the readers who don’t know you, why don’t you tell us about yourself?

Paula: Hello, my name is Paula, I’m the person behind “howeverlong” blog. I’m 24 years old, graphic designer and I live in Spain. I’m loser for books and movies and, of course, shows; I watch everything, specially if it’s a period drama, I have a crazy obsession over those. I love to eat, more of the 75% of my thought are about food, not joking. Oh, also a very proud Hufflepuff. So yes, I’m a fangirl and proud.

KM: Klaroline is not the easiest ship to ship; what was it about this pairing that stood out to you?

Paula: It’s a mixture of feelings. It isn’t only the appeal of the eternal promise or the chemistry between them, is also the connection they have. It is awesome to have a connection like this with someone, someone that knows you better than yourself and is there to give you comfort in the way they can, and understand all that you is enduring.

KM: What was your first fandom?

Paula: I think Klaroline is has been my first fandom in the meaning of talk to people, interact with them and being an active part of it.

KM: What is your favorite Klaroline scene?

Paula: There has been a lot of good scene during the years, but if I have to choose only one, I have to say 4×13, last scene of the episode, in where Klaus saved Caroline’s life. It’s the reason why I started ship them, actually. I didn’t know anything about them or the show, and I show that scene in a gifset once, and the dialogue and the way they watch each other was all I need to ship it. Never regretted it.

KM: Now that Candice Accola has been announced to be in The Originals season 5 premiere, and this their final season do you think the chance of Klaroline endgame is more probable than ever?

Paula: Hell yeah. 2k18 the year of the endgame. The countdown to the heart melt has started

KM: You have made some of my favorite Klaroline edits. What is it about this pair that drew you to them and inspired you to gif them?

Paula: Aww thank you so much. I can’t exactly point out what it what made me do them, it is  a couple of things like: they fight that sometimes leads to filtrations and other to a bit of pain; they sight contest that has more chemistry than a meth lab or just that they are two stubborns dorks in love. Or all this reasons at once.

KM: Does Klaroline remind you of any other ships from other shows/books/movies?

Paula: I always find a bit of them in everything I watch/read, and they can fit in everything, like everything. I’m a big Disney fan, so the ship that comes to my mind is Beauty and The Beast, every parallel you can imagine, they have it and it’s so lovely.

KM: If you could have any fanfiction be reenacted in canon, which one would you pick?

Paula: I have came across really good fics in all the years I have been in this fandom and pick just one is a really hard question for me, like really hard; because all the writers touch some headcanons that I love and it isn’t fair for me to just pick one. This said, I’m so in love with willowaus works since ever, it is “In the Ruins of the Stars”; is the myth of Hades and Persephone twist into Klaroline, is just amazing and so well written, I wish there be more chapters but I’m will waiting for this story for ever because is so great. If you haven’t read it, please do it.

KM: If Klaus and Caroline were transported to another show’s universe, which one would you pick?

Paula: Mmm, there is so much possibilities for those two that is so unfair. Like I said before, I’m so into period drama, and this past year I’ve been reading a lot of books about it, this combined with Laine (lalainej) and Kate (accidental-ramble) drabbles, make me impossible to not choose it.

Just imagine, 1800’s, London, Caroline Forbes a woman from a very prestigious family that  all that she wants is be free of the conventions of her gender that a woman only have one task in life: marry and have childrens. Her family force her to marry a Peer and the one they choose is the only one she can’t stand, Klaus Mikaelson, arrogant son of the Duke of Tyrell. They are two people with nothing in common, or it’s what they think…. Now don’t say you don’t to know more.

KM: And lastly, what’s your one piece of advice that you would like to give the fandom?

Paula: Have faith, be positive and take shit from no one, if we’s made this long without any allies, this only can get better.
