Bloggers Interview with klarolineforevermine

This week we had a chance to chat to Sara a.k.a klarolineforevermine, about why she ships Klaroline, her favorite fandom moment and her hopes for the Klaroline reunion. Read what she had to say here:

KM: For all of the readers who don’t know you, why don’t you tell us about yourself?

Sara: Hi! My name is Sara and I’m from the US. I never would have imagined that I’d one day create a blog specifically for a tv pairing, but here I am! I’m a huge fan of fluff and will often go out of my way to avoid angst as much as I can (unless that angst leads to a happy ending).

KM: Klaroline is not the easiest ship to ship; what was it about this pairing that stood out to you?

Sara: Well actually, I think Klaroline’s very easy to ship. Not only is there a rich and fiery chemistry between them, but there is also a meaningful bond between the two characters. What’s so beautiful about this pairing how they gradually changed from enemies to tentative friends to lovers, and how these two characters are presented as equals through the many challenges they issue one another. There is a delightful tug-of-war between the two where they dare each other to reveal their true thoughts and feelings, and it’s because of this that we’re able to see just how much they compliment one another. Every one of their scenes is simply electrifying. Aside from just how special this pairing it, I also find it easy to ship because I like to focus my attention on it, rather than the unfortunate drama that occasionally arises in the fandom.

KM: What has been your fondest memory of Klaroline fandom life?

Sara: I think my fondest memory would have to be the moment we found of that we’d be getting klaroline scenes in 7×14 of TVD/ 3×14 of TO. It was just such a shock for all of us, and the spoilers came at a time when many of us were just incredibly exhausted of waiting and hoping that we’d see them again soon. It was just so great to see everyone so excited and I think it really helped restore the fandom’s faith in receiving our endgame, which of course end up happening in the TVD finale. It was just really nice to feel like all of our waiting had been worth it, and indeed it has been.

KM: What is your favorite Klaroline scene?

Sara: I always struggle answering this question because I feel like the answer to it changes all the time. Their scenes just have so many layers to them- each carry a different emotional weight- that it’s sometimes really hard to choose. But the “It was all for you Caroline” scene in 4×14 remains one of my top 5 favorites because Klaus shows Caroline that he’s willing to do anything to see her happy, even if it means doing things that aren’t really in his nature to do so. It’s even more special when you think about all of the wonderful instances in which he’s shown just how much he cares for her, and I think it was really important for her to hear him say the words, because it confirmed what she had known all along: that whatever good he’s done since he came to Mystic Falls was strictly for her. It was just such an emotionally charged scene, and you can really see how vulnerable they become around each other. When they’re around one another, walls and barriers suddenly cease to exist- and that’s something that I’ve always loved about this particular pairing. That no matter how much they may try to hide their feelings, the truth of their desires and emotions always reveal themselves in the end.

KM: Now that we know that Klaroline will meet up in Europe in season 5 of The Originals, how do you think that reunion will go down?

Sara: Oh man I am SO excited for their reunion. I’m sure it’s going to be very emotional for them since it’s been a little over 15 years since they last saw each other in person. I would love for Caroline to find Klaus broodily staring at a painting in a museum, and for her to just interrupt his tortured thoughts with an exasperated sigh and annoyed remark about how she didn’t think this is what he had meant when he promised to show her the world. I feel like Caroline would rehearse what she’d say to him on the way there and try to keep as cool as possible instead of allowing her emotions to take over (especially when she’s on such a time-sensitive mission), so she’d blurt out a sassy line and he’d just turn around stunned and unable to mutter anything but her name. Candice and Joseph’s chemistry is just so magical to witness, I can’t wait to see how they handle the reunion. I’m sure we’re all in for a real treat.

KM: Which song do you think represents the relationship between Klaus and Caroline the best? And why?

Sara: I think “Burning Bridges” by One Republic is incredibly representative of their relationship because it talks about a person who has been running from their emotions and has been building bridges all throughout their relationship with someone they know is the “one” for them, and is finally ready to let that other person in completely and allow them to burn their bridges down. It’s just such a beautiful song, and it really speaks to how Klaus and Caroline have both tried extremely hard to maintain that wall to try and protect themselves from their feelings for each other, but cannot do so because the other has the power to see through those walls and tear them down.

KM: If you were stuck on an island and could only take one Klaroline fanfic with you what would it be?

Sara: This was another very difficult question, but I think I’d take “Null and Void” by liarfaker. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve read that one! It’s just so funny and so well-written, I’d recommend it to anyone who hasn’t had the pleasure of reading it already.

KM: Does Klaroline remind you of any other ships from other shows/books/movies?

Sara: I hear echoes of klaroline whenever I read Pride and Prejudice. There are some really beautiful parallels that exist between Klaroline and Elizabeth/Mr. Darcy, and it’s very similar in the sense that Elizabeth loathed Mr. Darcy in the beginning, but then slowly began to see and understand just how much he cared for her, and how he did an incredibly honorable thing for her. Both ships start off on the wrong foot but then begin to understand each other over time and realize just how compatible they are for one another.

KM: And lastly, what’s your one piece of advice that you would like to give the fandom?

Sara: I would advise them to never let anyone ruin their enjoyment for klaroline, be that a writer, an actor, or another fandom member. It’s been years since we last got a face-to-face scene, and yet here we are, mere months away from getting several episodes of them together at last. If it weren’t for the sheer determination and dedication for this ship, then their return never would have happened. Regardless of how the haters may act in the near future, don’t allow them to have the power to ruin something you love. Ignore them and revel in this victory. We made it.
