Klaus and Caroline: Cinderella or Beauty and the Beast?

General-Klaroline-Article

We know by now that, when you really love a certain pairing, it’s super easy to see them pretty much everywhere and that there’s not a day that goes by without a song, show or movie reminding you of their love story. Disney’s fairytales, especially, bring about a whole new set of parallels that connect our favorite ship to other epic couples like Eric and Ariel (The Little Mermaid), Phillip and Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), and so on. Not everything is the same, of course, but it’s always possible to find something that connects them to Klaus and Caroline, if you are willing to search deep enough and pay attention.

It’s no secret, however, that, among all Disney couples, the ones that relate the most to Klaroline are two, especially. With one having just had its own live-action movie created, and the other one having its on the way, it seemed fitting to ask you: would you rather see Klaus and Caroline in an adaptation of Cinderella or in one of Beauty and the Beast?

To help you choose, here’s two videos featuring one of the scenarios each, and don’t forget to let us know what your preference is in the comments below!

Cinderella

Beauty and the Beast

Do I have to choose? On the one hand, B&B for werewolf Furry (even though the original Beast had antlers and resembled a chimera, probably a reference to the god Cernnunos, rather than the more modern lupine features that Jean Cocteau’s movie popularized prior to Disney…). On the other hand, Klaus is a bit emotionally stunted from his abusive step-father trying to kill him for a thousand years, so it could be that one could do a straight Cinderella that then turns into a reverse-gender Cinderella tale (without the evil step-siblings — unless one counts Daddy’s Little Minion Freyja and Mommy’s Little Minion Finn). I love switching gender roles and Klaus’ situation could easily turn into an emotional, non-monetary reverse Cinderella tale. Hmm, like I said, do I have to decide? 😉

I really love both of these videos; they’re very good and show a good story that goes on there. Beauty and the Beast has so much of the Klaus/Caroline in it but the Cinderella would be very interesting to see as well. Though if I had to choose it would be Beauty and the Beast I think but I would definitely not shun away from Cinderella.
